Paris Hilton talks new beauty products

She’s already created a fashion empire of handbags, fragrances and hair extensions, and now Paris Hilton has a new addition to her style stable, with two more beauty products: The Celebrity Styler flat iron and Ultimate Brush.

“There are a lot of products out there that don’t work, they’re a rip-off,” the star told People Magazine at a launch event for the products at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills. “I wanted to make something that was affordable, that works. It’s fast, it’s easy and you don’t need a hair stylist.”

Paris’s mom Kathy weighed on on why her daughter had the perfect skill-set to be a hair care success: “She’s a hair fanatic,” Kathy explained to People. “That’s why with the Simple Life she decided to do those hair extensions, because she went crazy thinking ‘I’m going to be without a blow-dryer for four weeks!’” Sister Nicky concurred, saying, “She’s always loved experimenting with different makeup and hairstyles, so I think this product is a lot of fun for her.”

Paris, however, admitted to People an unexpectedly unglamorous side to herself. “I still am a tomboy. I love to go fishing. I love sports. I used to play ice hockey.
