Nicole Richie has finally explained the reason behind her mysterious feud with her ‘The Simple Life’ co-star Paris Hilton. The socialites had a much-publicised fall-out in January 2005 and have famously refused to divulge the reason behind their rift. But Richie now insists she steered clear of her former pal after a stint in rehab made her reassess her priorities. She tells Vanity Fair, “When I got out of rehab, I had to figure out what path to go down, and part of that included taking certain people out of my life. “I just decided I didn’t want to be her (Hilton’s) friend anymore. We’re just two completely different people; we don’t have that much in common.”

i still wish they were friends. if you’re friends with someone for 22 years you just don’t stop being they’re friend. it’s stupid. so it was nicole’s fault.
i think that it’s funny she said after rehab she had to ditch nicole.. but right after rehab she did 3 seasons of the simple life with her. nicole is so full of ****.

Oh please Nicole you did not decide you didn’t want to be friends anymore, you’re just trying to make it like it was your decision when Paris actually dumped you for hurting her. I think Nicole always felt like she was in Paris’ shadow (which she was, Paris was more famous, popular, prettier, thinner) and suddenly fame got to Nicole’s head and like Paris said, ‘she changed’. Nicole thinks she’s so much better than Paris but she was a druggie and now sorry to say it but she’s anorexic, she needs help. You don’t just ditch someone after 22 years because you felt like it Nicole!

I once had a longtime best friend do the same to me. First, she started imitating everything I did,even the clothes I wore. Then, she started talking behind my back. Then, she made moves on my bf – it didn’t work,lol. Sad,but I had to drop her.
Oh, and I read this week that Nicole wants a singing career. She is sooo copycatting Paris, it’s getting crazy.

Jon you are so right,I used to kinda like Nicole in the early seasons of TSL, she was funny, but a nobody, I hadn’t even HEARD of her until Simple Life. Not only that but she is spoilt and never worked a day in her life. Paris is all over the world promoting herself, writing books, making jewellery, bags, movies, modelling etc, she actually WORKS for her money, while Nicole just goes shopping with Daddy’s card. And I’m not really liking her fashion either, she’s dressing like a bohemian hobo with clothes so big they practically fall off her. It’s so annoying she copies everything Paris does and then rips her off meanwhile she wants to be her
