When Paris Hilton’s parents visited her in jail on Tuesday, they skipped the line, once again causing concern that the heiress is receiving preferential treatment.
One visitor to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, Alvina Floyd, told the Associated Press she waited more than four hours – as opposed to the usual two – and blamed the Hiltons for the delay.
“I have to be at work later,” she said. “I can’t wait here all day.”
Another visitor, Shatani Alverson, told the AP she was asked to leave the jail’s visiting room soon after her husband walked in because of the Hiltons. She was told to return after lunch.
Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said high-profile routinely receive visitors during lunch, when the visiting area is typically cleared out and closed.
Hilton’s younger sister, Nicky, and ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos were also accused of jumping the line when they visited Paris on Saturday. Whitmore at the time denied the pair got special treatment.
The heiress’s lawyer, Richard Hutton, said Monday that Hilton is being treated like any other prisoner in the Twin Towers’ medical ward. “The staff here is giving her excellent medical care,” he said. “She is receiving no preferential treatment.”
According to sheriff’s officials, it costs $1,109.78 a day to house a female inmate in the jail’s medical unit, compared to $99.64 a day in the general population, the AP reports.
Mary Tiedeman, who monitors jails for the ACLU, told the AP Hilton is being housed in an area usually reserved for high-security inmates or those with severe health problems: “I don’t know what her health issue is, but you have got to have a pretty intense medical or mental health problem to be in that part of the jail.”

I think Paris got a bum deal. Especially considering I know of at least three other people with multiple dui’s who have never seen the inside of a cell
The woman in TN who shot her husband in the back only got three years!
Paris gets three weeks for a minor infraction - this really is not fair!
I think this judge hates rich people, that’s the whole problem in a nutshell.
