Paris Hilton should be jailed for 45 days for being in violation of her probation in relation to a drink-driving arrest September of last year, according to prosecutors. A judge at Los Angeles Superior Court will review the recommendation, which was made in documents filed on Monday, when Hilton attends a probation violation hearing tomorrow (04May07).
Prosecutors also want the hotel heiress to be banned from consuming alcohol for 90 days and that she wear a monitoring device to ensure she complies with this order. Hilton, 26, was spotted driving along Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on 28 February without her headlights on. Her police stop showed Hilton had been sentenced the previous month (Jan07) to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines after she pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from a September (06) arrest.
So what do you guys think? Too harsh? Would you find it okay if it was anyone else but Paris?

No way!!! She shouldn’t go to jail at all. But even if she goes to jail(not like she will) she won’t be ruined because her true fans will always be there for her through thick and thin. Paris must be in a really tough time in her life now and all we can do is support her. We need to back her up anyway we can and help her. GO PARIS!!! I LOVE U !!!!
It’s way too harsh. If they want her “locked up” so to speak then I think 45 days in rehab would be a much better idea. I don’t think she has an alcohol problem but to me that’d be a better alternative than jail.
Criminals go to jail.
Paris is obviously not a criminal, so I think it’s wrong.
there are more peoplewho should be in jail….not paris!
um, well i certainly don’t think that she should be let off, but i do think 45 days is harsh, i say make her wear the braclet and stop drinking for 90 days, that’s good enuff, i mean if it was one of us, we’d be locked up, she shouldn’t be let off, just cuz she’s paris hilton, she did the crime, she should do the time or at least some form of it
she should be, did u read that article on cnn?! she violated those terms so many,MANY times. they gave her warning after warning, if she wasnt a “celebrity”, she wouldnt get extra treatment. i swear such bullshit, thinking its okay to drink and drive and are you guys kidding me? she VIOLATED her probation! if i had done that id be severely punished. besides paris is too slow to get the message. people get locked up all the time for probation.
Maybe something like 5days would teach her a lesson.
But come on 45days?? NOWAY!!
She doesnt diserve that.
What about all the murders and terrorists out there??
Yes-she is a person, like the rest of us. Just because she is famous doesn’t mean she can ignore the laws and not be punished.
I do HAVE to admit she should not go off too easy BUT jail is not for her. There are people who did way worse things then Paris did and they are not in jail! I think she should just get the bracelet and stop drinking for 90 days (like christine said) and go on with her life. It horriable how everyone is celebrating that she might go to jail.
WE LOVE YOU PARIS! Good luck! xoxox
Not quick on Paris posting, she’s already sentenced
Not quick on Paris posting, she’s already sentenced to 45 days!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I’m first to update on this site! Paris is going to jail on a 45 day sentence, which is a lil over a month. Her sentence will start on June 5 and if she shows up late again then her sentence would be doubled which would make it 90 days. So it suxs that she’s going to jail, I heard she started to subtley cry while walking out of the courtroom, she was begging the judge to not let her go to jail, but unfourtunatley it wwasn’t enough.
I’m appalled that the judge did in fact sentence her to 45 days in jail, starting June 5.
That’s just way too harsh.
I really do not think Paris knew about the suspension or she would not have driven in public.
Well, I guesss her lawyers will appeal. But I’m disgusted the way some people are so gleeful about it on TV. They don’t care what the truth is, they just want to see Paris hurt because they envy her.
Whatever happened with Nicole?
She drove on the wrong side of the freeway!
She most certainly deserves to go to jail. If there was a jail for stupidity she’d alread be in it!
I was hoping they’d just drop her off on a desert island somewhere so I’d never have to hear about her or see her again.. This is the next best thing
She’s going to jail… Booohooo poor little heiress…
I feel so for her… NOT!
Yeah she should, maybe then she’ll learn her lesson. -.-
HAHA SHE DID!
yeah i know, nicole could have fuckin killed people and she got off scott free, fuck that shit!!! I SAY WE SHOULD ALL START ROCKING SOME FREE PARIS TSHIRTS, LOL, I’M ABOUT TO MAKE ONE, HAHA
Paris obviously should go to jail. Does she think she can get away with the law just because she’s famous and has $$$$$$ to throw around? She could’ve killed someone out there. She’s such a ditz.
shit. this is baddd.
well right now all Paris needs is love and support from family and fans. its so sick the comments people leave on TMZ. they REALLY need to get a life.
Go christine! I hope someone will start some movement or we could start one…
I am so upset and mad about this. I started to cry when I heard she got 45 days. And it upsets me Nicole is getting off scott free. She drove on the wrong side of the road, had drugs, and two just a month or 2 or 3 ago I saw a paparazzi video of her DRIVING. Since she also got a DUI wouldn’t her license be suspended as well? Of course she’ll get away with it, while Paris is punished for the SAME thing. Poor Paris. I’d be so depressed if I were her
DRUNK DRIVING KILLS PEOPLE. 45 days is NOT HARSH. THINK ABOUT IT… the next time she could have killed someone. so i would take 45 days and a lessoned learned over killing someone and life in jail ANY DAY. and seriously, why doesn’t she use a driver?!
alos, there are plenty of celeb’s that got caught doing drugs. and then went in jail and got right out that same day. This is f_cked up.
THANK GOD!
You finally got caught.
Party at Privlege tonite celebrating this!
Her lawyers will appeal.
They can appeal this right up the line to the California Supreme Court.
So I don’t think Paris will be going to jail on June 5. This case could wind its way through the courts for a long time to come.
ANOTHER UPDATE:
Paris will be restricted from using any electronics including her cellphone in jail. She’ll have to wear jail clothes, live in a jail cell for over a month, have to talk with other inmates, can’t wear makeup or anything she wants to wear including perfume, eat whatever they have for her in jail, not be able to go shopping, out to eat, or go to any premeires, parties, or clubs. She will also have to take showers there just like anyone else and regular jail shampoo, and she’ll have to use sanitizers all of the time.
NOT TO MENTION THAT SHE CAN’T SEE HER PETS FOR OVER A MONTH!
Good God, Camilla. Contain yourself already with the Schadenfreude.
Paris Hilton’s fans feel bad for Paris.
?????? meee??? I love Paris, absolutley theee BEST celeb out there. I feel really bad, I think its sooo unfair but I’m just updating everyone on what’s gunna happen, I think it’s so stupid how they’re treating her.
That’s too harshh! maybe likee comunityy serviice will bee goodd..nott prisonn
45 days is too heavy for such kind of issue.
Community service is enough for her. Even if she should go to jail, 2 or 3 days enough!
In a lot of countries this issue only incurs some fines.
but 45 days jail! Are all Americans mad?
obviously, in this case the law is strongly abused.
she become a target of people who is jealous of her beauty and wealth!
she just needs to learn to drive better, haha, i’ve driven drunk plenty of times and have never had a problem, u just gotta keep focused, but she should have a fucking driver anyway, hell if i had that money, i’d have a driver take my ass everywhere, even down to the corner store, lol, and what’s with some of the hater’s on here, go the fuck away!!!
DAMN THE MAN…FREE PARIS, HAHA
Of course she should go to jail; she broke the law. Contrary to what her lawyers said, she is not being singled out because of who she is. I think they’ve been dealing with their celebrity clients a little too much and have forgotten that the common man typically will do time for something as blatant as what she did. On a personal note, I’m absolutely giddy that she is going to jail. No one needs it more.
she’s totally being singled out otherwise nicole would be going to jail too!!!
That’s ridiculous! She didn’t know that she couldn’t drive. Her LAWYERS didn’t know either. She should not go to jail PERIOD. She’s been sentenced on the drunk driving thing, so she’s done/doing her “time” for that. That’s enough. She hasn’t done anything wrong.
People will never know if it is true that she was told that she was permitted to drive for work purposes, so I think the judge has no right to start drawing conclusions and therefore sentence her to 45 days in jail. It’s wrong….this shouldn’t even be a discussion point. It’s just plain wrong.
excuse me, but she signed a damn paper that cleary states it, i think thats enough proof. its just jail, its not like shes locked up in prison, geez…
Celebrity’s are just like regular people, break the law and you pay the penality. I doubt if 45 days will even phase her.
She violated the terms of her probation and of her plea deal and also was apparently speeding with lights out (and with license suspended), despite a prior stop in which she acknowledged in writing the fact of the suspension. As an attorney, I can imagine others getting AT LEAST 45 days. Again, her conduct essentially invalidated her earlier plea deal was itself aggravating. Elementary that such would cause major problems. On a different note, her mother’s reported in-courtroom (laughter and) comments are themselves disgraceful. Others among us truly do behave more responsibly, even at her age, and without any looming inheritance. Now, on to more important matters…

Well here in Canada, If you get caught drunk driving, your car is impounded for 30 days minimum, (at a cost of 80 bucks a day impound fee) you are automatically disqualified for driving for 5 years and you need to get an alcohol and drug asessment done. on top of court costs which are in the neighborhood 1500 dollars, and you pay for your own assessment, another 500 dollars.thats first offence, second offence, just double all that. driving while disqualified from an impaired nets you about 1 year in the jail. and if someone is injured, or killed, you have an attempted murder charge on you. if they are killed, its vehicular homicide. 45 days??? ha ha ha thats a joke, pretty lenient judge if you ask me. how about 1 year less 1 day, that sounds more appropriate to me. and no im not one of the “MADD” people. Here we have some of the toughest drinkin driving laws in the world. Granted no one got hurt, but what if someone did? do you think 45 days would be sufficient to cover the loss of a mother of 2 children, or the father of a family of 5? Or how about your kid being run down in the middle of the street? Celebrity or not! there is one law for all, it doesnt matter if you rich and famous or not. Under the skin, your still just a regular person
THANK GOD IN HEAVEN!!! SHE’S GOING TO JAIL!! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAH!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I loved this judge whoever he is. She’s outta control, annoying, and needs it. Maybe she’ll learn from this experience after she gets out.
How the heck can there be Paris Hilton fans? My God, are you guys sick in the head? I believe so.
She is not an influence whatsoever. She doesn’t even care about her fans either. If she saw you walking down the street, she’d automatically comment on how ugly or fat you are. Gessh, at least look up to someone who is liable to look up too.
Oh, and yes, she DOES desrve to go to jail. DOWN W/ PARIS!!!!! HAHA!!!
shes got as much brains as a four corner post, pass on the 45 days give her 2 years, maybe then she would get her shit together, poor little rich girl. tuff shit stupid, if you do the crime you do the time
Yes she should go to jail. Just because she is a celeb doesn’t mean she should get special treatment. The stupid, ugly, poor little rich girl will have what is coming to her when she’s in jail! I say they should do this more often to teach people like her a lesson. She could have killed someone while under the influence of alcohol. Maybe then her “5 year old” fans wouldn’t be feeling so sorry for her.
YES .. send her to jail to pay for breaking the law. That’s what happens when you do bad things — you pay. Money should not buy you your freedom when you consistently break the law.
PARIS GO TO JAIL. Your a grown up…now start acting like one. I noticed that everyone here that supports Paris is still probaby in elementary school by the way they write and spell. She does not care for anyone on this website. If you think she does…your a fool. She cares for one person….herself. She is not above the law, and should be punished.
My opinon is that paris shoudn’t go to jail. I know she is A young adult but everyone in life makes mistakes. I know that it is 45 days but just hink About the other s who have murder the like of others loved 1’s. it is not As bad as that if that that should be ur entire life. what paris did was a simple mistake. so I hope all of the people that read this is that u think of all the people who have got arressed for other things than just a driving thing.
