Paris Hilton who vowed to better herself after serving 23 days in jail for driving offenses in June - hopes to use her fame to draw attention to the plight of the war-torn African country.
Paris, 26, told E! Online: “I’ll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie. “There’s so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.
“I want to visit more countries where poverty and children’s issues are a big concern. “I know there’s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues.”
The Simple Life star - who is currently filming horror-musical Repo! The Genetic Opera in Toronto - was originally invited to Rwanda by Scott Lazerson, of Playing for Good, an organisation which helps top businesses and celebrities get involved in charity work.
Meanwhile, Paris was feeling less charitable at the AmFAR Rocks benefit party at New York’s Puck Building on Monday night.
An insider told the New York Post newspaper: “Paris refused to be photographed because the event was sponsored by Rock and Republic. She’s about to bring out her own denim range and didn’t want to promote any rival brands, so she stayed in a roped off area with her entourage.”
After the party, Paris and her new Swedish boyfriend Alex Vaggo went for dinner at Stanton Social and later partied at Butter nightclub until 3am, drinking 13 bottles of champagne.
I hope she’s safe and that she breaks up with that swedish bastard!
From what I learned in the European news, Alex is 22 years old and just finished college. So he is upper middle class in Sweden. And he must be smart to have passed the difficult exams for higher ed in Europe.
His full name is Alexander von Zeigbergk Vaeggoe in the Swedish spelling. The “von” in his name means he is descended from nobility.
He may not have a lot of money right now but he is no “pizzaboy” either.
Lots of European kids take temp jobs in summer in the US. Tiger Woods’ Swedish wife worked as a babysitter here but her folks are in politics in Sweden.
Anyway, the general consensus seems to be that Alex is a very nice guy.
Paris is evidently helping him to get on with some talent agencies, and he said about Paris that she is very intelligent and goal oriented. Not at all like he imagined her to be.
Paris hasn’t said he is her new boyfriend, so we simply do not know what the sitch is.
BUT if this develops further, Alex is a handsome guy to produce some babies with. LOL.
