Paris on Smashing Pumpkins cover

In their efforts to regain the popularity they enjoyed in the ’90s, alt-rock gods the Smashing Pumpkins have apparently released their CD single of “Tarantula” (from their upcoming July 10 album, Zeitgeist) in the U.K. with Paris Hilton on the cover. The recently freed heiress is posing with her BlackBerry dressed as a 19th-century saloon employee. The band seems to be making a bold statement about our culture with this cover — that people use BlackBerrys.
