Paris Hilton is being slammed for turning her back on some kids in need. Hilton is happy to play charity queen while the cameras were rolling.but two years after a well-publicized visit to Gold Coast charity Paradise Kids, the millionaire heiress has broken a promise she made to help seriously ill children reports news.com.au.
Hilton pledged to organize a star-studded benefit concert in Los Angeles to raise much-needed funds for the charity.
She claimed it was one of her first priorities after returning to the US from the Gold Coast, where she spent six weeks filming House of Wax in 2004.
“I’ll get a few friends together. I know the Backstreet Boys will help out for sure and I talked to Blu Cantrell last night,” Hilton claimed at the time. Missy Elliott was another big-name act mentioned.
“I definitely want to do this,” Hilton told gathered media. “My grandmother died of cancer and I almost lost my cousin to leukemia. It’s just something very important to me.
“I love kids and I just feel it’s the right thing to do. It makes me feel good about myself and it helps other people.”
Meanwhile, “Stars Are Blind,” the debut single from heiress, actress, and newly minted pop star Paris Hilton, is burning up at radio and on MTV.com. The reggae-tinged track was released in Europe on June 2nd and leaked that day by Ryan Seacrest during his morning show on Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM. Within minutes, the track began to pop up on stations across the U.S., leading Warner Bros. Records to make the song available to radio for digital delivery ahead of schedule on June 5th. It is now in rotation at 50 stations across the country and is already a Top 5 request at Z100/NY and KISS/Los Angeles, in less than a week.
In addition, on June 6th, MTV.com world premiered the video for “Stars Are Blind,” featuring Hilton frolicking on a beach in Malibu, Calif., on its popular “Hot 5 on Overdrive” program, generating high demand and driving the show to its all-time best performing day. The clip was quickly posted by users of YouTube.com, where 10,000 people per hour viewed it that day. The video was shot two weeks ago by noted director Chris Applebaum, who also lensed Rihanna’s “S.O.S.” and Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten,” as well as Hilton’s high-profile Carl’s Jr. campaign.
“Stars Are Blind” is the lead-off single from Hilton’s self-titled debut album, which is due for release by Warner Bros. Records late summer. It features collaborations with top-flight producers Scott Storch, J.R. Rotem, and Dr. Luke, as well as songwriting by pop heavyweights Kara DioGuardi, Billy Steinberg, and Sheppard Solomon.
Hilton will grace the cover of Blender magazine’s “Hot” issue in September.

She’s busy right now. Give her time. I’m sure she’ll come through for the kids.
Australia has a much better and more comprehensive health care system than the USA.
Paradise Kids is just a counselling service for about 400 kids and, in general, falls under the responsiblity of the Australian government.
I’m sure Paris meant well when she was kicking around ideas to help out a little, but she did not make a firm offer/commitment to them. And they have no right to demand anything.
Perhaps her advisers told her to look closer to home for causes.
She DID auction herself off last year for $200,000 to help Katrina victims.
And right now she’s busy taking care of herself. People….man…they just get too damn pushy.
my god i cant believe what im hearing are you guys mad, stop sticking up for ehr she did the wrong thing, she promised sick kids, if she knew she didnt have time she would not have promised them, some kids have already died since her visit how do you think it’d make them feel. She has no right dont stick up for her because she shouldnt have made the promise simple as that. shes too unorganized and just totally lost in the stupid hollywood world to even give a rats ass about sick children, she’ll go out and buy herself a $200,000 bloody pink bike than help children

No kids could have died.
Paradise Kids is only a Mental Health counselling service for kids who have had some kind of losses in their lives.
It’s admirable Paris thought maybe she could help but who knows, perhaps the people she asked to participate said no or didn’t have the time either.
Meanwhile, though, Paris has helped out with Multiple Sclerosis because Nancy Davis has the disease (Brandon’s mom). There is only so much one can do.
As Donald Trump once pointed out - whenever he does anything for a charity he reserves the right to back out if circumstances change. Smart move.
