Socialite PARIS HILTON has launched a scathing attack on NICOLE RICHIE, branding her former friend jealous and fame-hungry. The hotel heiress and her SIMPLE LIFE co-star mysteriously fell out in January 2005 and have refused to divulge the reason behind the rift. Hilton and Richie will soon be reunited on screen for a fourth series of their reality TV show, THE SIMPLE LIFE 4: TILL DEATH DO US PART, but will not have to film any scenes together. Hilton says, “She cannot stand being around me because I get all the attention and people really don’t care about her. “It breaks my heart. She was my sister. She was the funniest, best person to be around and then she let fame go to her head. “She’s not the same person any more. I never want to speak to her again – ever.”
The 25-year-old socialite is also determined to break the rules of her TV contract and escape working with Richie again in a possible fifth series. She adds, “We’re under contract, but I don’t want to do it. They want to do it with just me, but we’re both under contract together. “She has nothing else so she really wants to do it, but I don’t. It’s really pathetic that she needs to use my name to sell something because she’s obviously not enough. “I’ve been best friends with her since I was two, but when I brought her onto my show, she got very jealous and turned on me for no reason.” Of Richie’s recent weight loss, Hilton laments, “That’s not normal. I can’t believe it. She looks horrible. It’s really sad.”
Edit I just found out these quotes are taken from an interview Paris did with Elle Magazine, so it must be true.

It seems like Paris is the Jealous one because she is always talking about Nicole to the media while Nicole has said nothing about her (because she over Paris, who truly need to grow up). She’s 25 years old and still acts like a child.
I’m sure Paris is right, Nicole wants to keep doing TSL because she does not have as many other projects as Paris.
So, as long as either one agrees to do it, Paris is locked into that contract – and she wants out. Evidently,Paris has her g-grandfather’s drive to succeed, and at age 25, she wants to move beyond TSL. Can’t blame her.
Nicole clearly has some drug and weight issues,and god-knows-what-else. I feel bad for her because I think she never had the loving and emotionally secure childhood Paris had. So she envies Paris on more than one level.Sad but it happens all the time, this eternal competition between women.
Paris actually hardly ever talks about Nicole to the media, in fact this is one of the first times I’ve seen Paris talk about her rift with Nicole in a while. Nicole in the meantime has been backstabbing and only has bad things to say about Paris. Don’t know if it’s true but a while ago I read that Paris even sent Nicole a letter trying to make up. In every interview Paris has said she doesn’t want to talk about Nicole but she hopes she’s happy. It’s about time she stands up to Nicole. And I think Paris is pretty grown up for 25 – look at all she’s accomplished. She is such a smart businesswoman, making all her own money, while Nicole rides on the fame of others, first Paris (before TSL I didn’t even know who Nicole was) now on Mischa Barton.
