Yeah, Conservatives are dicks, inherently. They’d just love it if America was a Christian theocracy. They’d probably like to stone her (Paris) to death or something, as one thing they’d like to do.
A little too black and white for me, although I see what Dawn and Morgan mean in general. I’m no fan of the right wing or conservatives in general (I’m a lifelong lefty) but I do think it unfair to tar everyone of a group with the same brush. There’s plenty of misguided and frustrated people who probably think they’re being true to their socialist ideals in hating Paris simply for being rich, successful or Hollywood. Bottom line is that Paris haters are a lot of misguided, frustrated, miserable, hateful, jealous people who are obviously unhappy in their own lives. But they don’t all belong to any one group, just as her fans cross all sorts of groups and walks of life.
I was confronted angrily by a colleague recently for wearing a Paris t-shirt. This normally intelligent and well educated guy (far from conservative, he’s an old punk like me and knows that religion is a load of crap) simply hated Paris for being “the daughter of a millionaire” and had never bothered to find out anything about her. He avoids anything about her and just assumes that she would not give “people like him” the time of day (whereas as a fan, I know that Paris is a sweet good natured person who works on various projects and doesn’t rely on her family wealth and who is usually friendly and obliging to most people no matter what their financial status or social group). I’m sure there’s plenty cases like this, where people just assume she’s the kind of person they hate without ever bothering to do research. It just makes me thankful that I’m an individual and capable of making up my own mind, rather than relying on “recieved wisdom” or what my oh-so-alternative friends think.
I must say that I don’t like the rich, but Paris is an exception. Others such as Kim Kardashian are famous for no reason, and I just despise her. I don’t like Donald Trump, Hugh Hefner, and so on, because they were once on the bottom, but now that they’re on the top of society, they splurdge their money on decadent crap, and also take attractive women out of the gene pool.
