Paris Hilton was paid $200,000 for turning up to a charity event. The hotel heiress collected the huge fee for simply showing her face and waving to fans in Cannes on Saturday. The star is quoted in the New York Post newspaper as saying: “All I had to do was wave like the Queen of England.”

It was reported that the socialite was paid a staggering $ 1million for a similar event in Vienna a few weeks ago. However, Hilton is said to be fuming that she wasn’t invited to the Vanity Fair Party at Cannes’ Hotel du Cap over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the socialite has been savaged in a new song. American comedian Mark Manne launched into a bitter tirade during a rendition of his ballad, ‘Everything That is Wrong with America Today (aka The Paris Hilton Song)’, at The Laugh Factory in New York.

He sang: “Paris, I want to hit you in the face with a bat/Because you pampered your dog, then got rid of her when she got fat. He continued: “Paris Hilton, why do I even know your name? Is it the short skirts? No! ‘The Simple Life’? No! It’s cause you’ll have sex with anything. You’re so mean, all bathed in green, an amateur porno queen/Go away, just go away from here, go away.”

Paris Hilton was spotted shopping at Zara store in Cannes grabbing inexpensive fashion fixes for her couture wardrobe.

Wearing white embroidered halter top, jeans and an oversize butterfly belt, Paris Hilton and a friend and Caroline D’Amore shopped at Rue d’Antibes in Cannes.

Paris picked a few bagfuls of affordable runway knockoffs in Zara store, to the excitement of fans and paparazzi.

An heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, Paris Hilton earned approximately US$7.5 million for her television and movie roles, but in 2004-2005 her earnings from television, movies, modeling, and personal appearances have earned her an additional $15.5 million.

Paris Hilton has launched her fragrance line, and also helped to design purses for Samantha Thavasa and Toys for Tots.

Bottom line: even stars can’t resist a deal when it comes to fashion.

Socialite Paris Hilton’s feud with Vanity Fair is continuing across the Atlantic - she was banned from the magazine’s party at the Cannes Film Festival in France. The glossy publication hosted a star-studded bash at Cannes’ prestigious Hotel du Cap on Saturday night, and despite Hilton’s presence on the French Riviera, she was kept out of the event, PageSix.com reports. In March (06), Hilton was banned from the magazine’s annual post-Oscar bash at Morton’s Restaurant, after she was blacklisted by the magazine’s editor Graydon Carter. Carter said, “Paris who? She will never attend one of the parties I host.”

Socialite Paris Hilton has delayed the release of her debut album, so she can record her own version of Gnarls Barkley’s hit song ‘Crazy’. The album was originally set for release in early summer (06), but has reportedly been pushed back to September (06). A source tells London’s Daily Star, “It’s just Paris’s latest idea and because she shares a label with Gnarls, she thinks that it will all be a piece of cake. “The chances of it happening are minute, but everything has to go on pause while it’s all discussed.” Hilton’s self-titled album will reportedly include cover versions of Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Glass’ and Rod Stewart’s ‘Do You Think I’m Sexy’.

The provocatively attired American socialite and heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, who also dabbles in modeling and acting, was presented a diamond ring on the occasion.

The Bâoli is a luxury restaurant on the edge of the Riviera that film stars, models and millionaire frequent during the Cannes film festival. It creates the ambience of the island of Bali in Indonesia, a very popular tourist destination. The entrance mimics the gates of a Hindu temple. The logo of the Bâoli takes inspiration from the Hindu god Shiva and symbolizes water flowing sinuously and dropping on a lingam. The interiors are exotic with palm trees, candle-lit tables and sofas bathed with subdued light from lamps.

The fact that most of us would find Bâoli frightfully expensive to eat out at could well be left unsaid. After all, someone had to pay for the diamond ring presented to Ms Hilton.

Will Lindsay Lohan seek revenge on Paris Hilton for the unbelievable barrage of insults Brandon Davis hurled at her while Paris Hilton giggled like a school girl in LA earlier this week?

A published report says she was quiet on Thursday night.

Daily Dish reports that Lindsay refused to bite back at her name-calling ex-pals Paris Hilton and Brandon Davis at Wednesday’s Maxim Hot 100 party at Buddha Bar despite whispers through the crowd about the lewd insults Davis spewed, much to Paris’ amusement.

But Ted Casablanca says the revenge will come in Cannes as she is set to meet Paris Latsis at the film festival.

According to chums superclose to another Greek, monied clan, L2 and boy Paris–i.e., Latsis–had a little sleepover at his Bev Hills pad Saturday night. Also whisper-worthy is that the Latsis clan is apparently headed to Cannes for five-star frolicking on the family yacht.

“[Lindsay Lohan and Paris Latsis] are planning to hook up in the south of France later this week,” dished my connected source.

Translation - Lohan and Latsis hooked up on Saturday night in Beverly Hills and plan on meeting up in Cannes. Again.

Perhaps that is what sparked that Brandon Davis tirade.

American shock jock, Howard Stern has slammed rich kids Brandon Davis and Paris Hilton for their recent hateful tirade against teen actress Lindsay Lohan.

In video footage captured by TMZ.com, Davis launched a personal attack on Lohan during which he branded her a “firecrotch” and claimed she had an eight foot long clitoris.

Speaking on his show yesterday Stern said of Davis: “He’s a big, fat, tubby piece of shit.”

“It’s just evil. Just pure evil coming out of this guy’s mouth.”

For once Stern is bang on!

Paris Hilton’s been hard at work recording her forthcoming debut. She’s already got an album’s worth of material, but Hilton just went back in the studio to record with producer J.R. Rotem (who is also working on Britney Spears’ new project).

“It’s an uptempo, very fun, high energy track,” Rotem told Spin.com of the new song. “It’s got a surprise musical element that I can’t talk about yet, but it’s something that everyone will recognize and go, ‘Wow, okay, that’s cool.’”

Not only is the track cool, but, according to Rotem, so is Paris herself. “She was great, a real pleasure,” he said. “She came into the studio very well prepared. She gets behind the mic and sounds great and her tone and delivery are great. There’s a lot of personality and sassiness in her voice. She’s very fun to work with.”

crowd: “I’m really excited to have my new video game, Diamondquest. Thank you all for coming, and you can download the game.”

The game, which can be played on mobile phones, will be available this summer.
