A Web site touting Paris Hilton’s racy television spot for burger chain Carl’s Jr. crashed for four hours as Internet surfers raced to see the seductive swimsuit-clad socialite doused in suds.

The 30-second commercial, which features the hotel heiress washing a Bentley and chomping on Carl’s Jr.’s Spicy BBQ Burger in a stringy black swimsuit, has generated media attention since hitting the TV airwaves last Thursday.

Carl’s Jr., a unit of CKE Restaurants Inc. (NYSE:CKR - news) known for its male-focused ads and hefty burgers, at the same time launched a special Web site (http://www.spicyparis.com) featuring a special 60-second version of the ad.

A day later, the site crashed and was down for about four hours, the company said.

“It was a mixed blessing,” Carl’s Jr.’s executive vice president of marketing, Brad Haley, said in a statement. “It turned out that Paris was too hot for our servers.”

It was not the first time Hilton, star of the Fox reality TV series “The Simple Life,” has created a stir online. In late 2003, a homemade sex video of her with an ex-boyfriend spread rapidly via the Internet, making Hilton a household name.

Hilton’s Carl’s Jr. ad, created by Los Angeles-based Mendelsohn Zien Advertising LLC, will also be used to promote CKE’s Hardee’s hamburger chain. It will hit airwaves in those markets in mid-June.

So it was time to down tools and form an orderly mob when Paris Hilton strolled through the pits of the Monaco Grand Prix winning team at the weekend.

The 24-year-old blonde babe went across to celebrate with the winning grease monkeys after their driver Kimi Raikkonen beat German Nick Heidfeld to the chequered flag.

Heidfeld’s Australian BMW-Williams teammate Mark Webber scored his first podium with a well-fought third place.

We’re not sure how much attention Hilton paid to the actual race thingy, but the Simple Life star said she could well become a regular at the most glamorous event in world motor sport.

Hilton had flown into Monaco after her appearance at the Cannes film festival and has promised the principality will be on her schedule next year. “I’ll just pop in from Cannes,” she said.

While she was happy enough to pose at the weekend, she said last year she took racing lessons in Monaco to learn how to outrun the paparazzi.

And apparently the Ferrari-driving hotel heiress has tried out her racecraft on the streets of LA.

“I took lessons in Monaco with real racing cars. I love fast cars,” she was quoted as saying in Britain’s Daily Mirror.

“I’ve driven on the streets at 140 miles an hour (225km/h) when no one’s around. I’ve never had an accident.”

Other celebrities at this year’s race included football legends Maradona and Zinedine Zidane, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, Tom Cruise and Chewbacca.

PARIS Hilton’s dream of building her own business empire seems to be taking shape with thousands of fans turning out for the launch of her new perfume in Germany.

The wannabe business mogul was reportedly mobbed as she attended a store in Hamburg to peddle her little Paris in a bottle.
The star of TV’s Simple Life was forced to take refuge in an elevator as enthusiastic Germans broke through a security cordon and rushed toward her, the DPA news wire reported.

Bodyguards whisked Hilton away from the mob to safety and the rear of the store - where she had been due to sign autographs and pose for photographs.

The hotel heiress has recently expressed a desire to break from the shackles of her family dynasty and make some serious cash of her own.

Citing Donald Trump and P.Diddy as role models, she said she was through with her partying days and ready to settle down.

“Now I’m trying to build an empire I don’t want to be this Hilton hotel girl all my whole life I want to make my own name,” she said.

If the enthusiasm of the German fans is anything to go by, she may not have long to wait.

Paris Hilton faces a $95 (GBP50) fine after feeding pigeons on the streets of London - because Mayor KEN LIVINGSTONE has banned the generous activity.

The hotel heiress arrived in the British capital on Monday (16MAY05) to promote her own brand of perfume, and wiled away her spare time throwing pieces of bread to the famished birds in Trafalgar Square.

She says, “I’d live here if it had Los Angeles weather. I just love feeding the pigeons in Trafalgar Square; I could do that forever. I even prefer it to going shopping.”

However, THE SIMPLE LIFE star has prompted Livingstone’s spokesman to warn her of the financial penalty attached to her illegal act of kindness.

He says, “There’s a bylaw that makes it illegal for any person to either feed any bird or distribute any feeding stuffs for birds unless approved by the Mayor of London.”

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton had Pamela Anderson giggling when the strain of having to read a restaurant menu for herself triggered one of her tantrums.

The blonde socialite was dining out with Anderson when she suddenly flew into a rage as no one was reading the contents to her.

Anderson says, “She’s funny.

“Last time I met her we were in a restaurant together - she slammed the menu down and screamed, ‘I hate reading! Someone tell me what’s on the menu!’

“I mean, I’m blonde but c’mon.”

There aren’t any raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, but Paris Hilton’s latest venture does feature some of her favorite things. The starlet is launching a signature fragrance, appropriately named Paris Hilton, on Monday, May 16 in London.
“I wanted to create a fragrance that was sweet and sexy,” says Hilton in a statement. “I created the scent a few years ago and it contains all the things I love … flowers, fruit plus a special, sensual ingredient: pheromone.”

There’s no word about whether these pheromones will mimic the purported power of men’s scents such as Axe and Tag and render the wearer irresistible. Paris does describe her fragrance as “magical” though.

“It is the last thing I put on before I step out to party — it’s a signature, a style statement, it’s memorable,” she adds. “My sister and my friends love it too.”

The 24-year-old heiress will play hostess at Il Bottaccio, a posh venue housed in a 19th century French Renaissance building overlooking Buckingham Palace Gardens. Family, friends and other celebrities who aren’t angry after the T-Mobile Sidekick-hacking incident will be on hand to party.

Hilton’s big-screen debut, “House of Wax,” recently opened in second place at the weekend box office. In the past year, she’s starred in the third season of “The Simple Life,” had herself immortalized as a wax figure, opened Club Paris in Orlando and recorded a pop album soon to be released. Teen People recently named her to their annual list of “25 Hottest Stars Under 25.”

The end of the summer will signal the start of Paris Hilton’s singing career, if all goes as she plans.

Hilton, in Toronto last week promoting her movie House of Wax, told MuchMusic that she is hard at work on the album in Los Angeles

“I have so many projects I’m working on now but it will be released in August,” she said.

As previously reported, Hilton’s album will contain some production work from Lil Jon. She had hoped to work with the Black Eyed Peas and Le Tigre but it doesn’t appear that will be working out. JC Chasez has also been linked to the album, but he told andPOP he has no plans to work with Hilton.

“Screwed,” which may be her first single, was leaked to the internet a few weeks ago.

I received yet another e-mail from my anonymous source, who was on the set when Paris shot her “too hot for tv” burger commercial. She gave us a few insights on how the shoot went…

•The ad was filmed at an airplane hanger at the Santa Monica Airport.

•Paris did almost $30k worth of damage to the paint on the Bentley while
performing on top of it in her heels and jewelry.

•There was one scene where she was writhing on the hood of the Bentley
covered in hot soapy water. It was so slippery that she slid off but
managed to land on her feet in stilleto heels. That’s talent!

•She was provided costume jewelry that she refused to wear during the
shoot. The rumor was that she brought her own stuff valued at 500k.

•There was a “crisis” on the set and production came to a halt, turns out
the emergency was that she needed a manicure.

•There was a huge black curtain draped all around the car so that she could have “privacy” while she performed.
